RSM Internationalhas announced that BOB DOHRE has been elected as the new chairman of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC’s) Forum of Firms (FoF). Established in 2001, the FoF aims to promote high quality standards of financial reporting and audits worldwide. Dohrer also chairs the RSM transnational assurance services executive committee (TASEC), an international committee which oversees application of professional standards across all of RSM International’s member firms.

SIR ALISTAIR GRAHAM has been appointed as lay public interest observer on the council of the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT). He will be advising the council on the public interest regarding CIOT’s activities and will support the institute’s adherence to its charitable responsibilities.

Well known in public life, Graham is currently serving as chair of the Independent Mobile Classification Body. His most high profile role was as chairman of the Committee on Standards in Public Life between 2004 and 2007.

Montpelier, which specialises in advice and support for SMEs, has named SUSAN HAWORTH as director. Haworth joined the firm as a trainee accountant, in 1990 and now advises sole traders and family-owned businesses on corporate tax planning, business growth, retirement planning and exit strategy.
